You don't understand the term "strictly".
This costs , Wooden Sphere costs .
This costs no mana to activate, the sphere costs each time.
Sure, the abilities are the same, and this is in many, many cases much better,
But it simply is not "strictly" better.

@desolation_masticore: While I enjoy your initial enthusiasm in making cards like these better, I can't quite say that makes sense. Too powerful for 2 mana, and A and B just aren't related. Make it "gain one life for each spent to cast the green spell", so it at least makes some measure of sense beyond "play Primalcrux, spam Giant Growth"
