Don't really know what to say, I suppouse it is an easy way to splash black in an artifact deck while not losing card advantage. Though a 2 cmc for a creature that is a 1/1 even with a mana ability feels somewhat risky.
Not a bad card, and allows you a way to get black mana to power those Skeleton Shards and Cranial Platings without bringing in extra lands/colors.

So, why is this guy "Leaden" Myr? The other mana Myr arn't 'Golden' Myr, 'Coppery' Myr, etc. No, they are Gold Myr, Copper Myr, etc. This guy breaks the naming pattern. So why isn't his name Lead Myr?

This just hedging bets for no real benefit... I'd rather have a cmc-2 mana artifact, to get the mana out of it on the turn it drops and for it not to fall to a Bolt or some such.
If I'm adding mana it's usually for fixing or for acceleration - not for a late-game chump block.

He's "Leaden" instead of "Lead" because "Lead" can be mistaken for "Leader" or "Leading," while with "Leaden," this is no question that this guy has something to do with the substance lead.
