Does this therefore work against Natural Order, Show and Tell, Aether vial, Thrun, Emrakul, etc? If it simply nullifies the card?

They have changed the functionality of the card, though. As printed, it would still function just fine, since the card text will always overrule game rules. Still, now it's not affected by Squeeze anymore, for instance.
