I love Banding but I'll play a Knighthood before I spend four mana on this chump.

They need to bring banding back, it was a great mechanic that only imbeciles didn't understand.

Banding might have survived longer if there were more creatures like this that gave special bonuses to creatures in the same band, especially if they gave stat boosts. I can imagine first strike and banding working quite well together, but a four-mana 1/1 should have a better ability than this.

@Kryptnyt: What wordy is in word 'banding'?
I have rulescards from various expansions telling for example what 'proliferate' means. The explanation is not longer than the explanation of 'banding'.

Ugh, what a complex and costly mess of a card. Not worth it.

This was pretty damn good when it 1st came out, and prob. my fave from the set. CMC was too much, but sharing an ability was UNHEARD OF then. 3.5/5

If this guy was 2/2 he would be a 5/5, i still love banding and I wish they used it more just like this card. Sadly, Camel is the only other creature with banding that shares abilities to my knowledge.

its not too hard to understand to bring back, just too wordy to fit on the cards. I was dissapointed to find no banding in Time Spiral block though. @Tavaritz If they brought banding back, they'd have to have some reminder text, just like any other new ability they come out with. The reminder text on banding is really, really wordy. Just look at the oracle reminder text.

See, this is why Soulbond was a really good idea. Banding that isn't impossible to understand.

The idea here is cool, but it's poorly implemented. Five mana could get you an Serra Angel, for heaven's sakes. They overvalued First Strike here, too.
It should have cost three mana and granted first strike to a defensive band, too; or, alternatively, it should've given +1/0, +2/0, or even +3/0 to anyone in a band with it on top of the first strike.
