See, I LOVE Briarhorn. This puppy reminds me of Briarhorn, but isn't nearly as good. Sadness. Will I still play it anyhow?

It won't, sadly. Briarhorn throws down as a 6/6, this chump is a cute 2/5. Not even close.

As of right now, I think this is underrated! This is great in limited, and decent elsewhere.

A 2/5 defender who flashes in for a quick intercept. Useful, but nothing Earth shattering.

wow, this guy would'v been amazing in zen limited and still pretty powerful in zen zen wwk, but in eldrazi he's almost useless.

Underated. Can cave your creatures, or at least suddenly block an oncoming creature.

Because of the flash I think this deserves a 3.5 at least. A nice surprise could change the momentum of the entire game.

Blocks damage without killing one of your creatures, and gets another blocker out on the field. It's a great defensive card for if you're getting absolutely trashed by a heavy creature or two.

I use him in my Doran EDH deck, where he is effectively color-shifted Briarhorn with lower P/T and lower cost. Other than that, I don't see many uses.

There's a reason this is uncommon. He totally changes the outcome of a combat step. Many times, your opponent will attack into your creatures, hoping to get some damage in, or content just to trade dudes. This not only blocks down an additional creature, but turns that trade into a loss for the attacker. On top of that, it leaves you one guy up to attack with next turn (assuming he didn't die in combat, which is totally reasonable too).
