This in play and then cast Innocent Blood = you sac the gatekeeper and everyone else sacs two creatures. Love it.

The only problem I see with this card is the fact that you too have to sac a creature. Although, you should really only be playing this card in suicidal black decks.

I'm not sure if the Innocent Blood combo works. If it does work, can someone explain how?
Use innocent blood, sac the Gatekeeper. They sac a creature.
Then, all must sac a creature as a result of it dying.
All players sac 2 creatures. Not just the opponents.

As Nibelheim said, using this with Attrition would be counter-productive. They would simply sac the creature you were trying to kill in the first place.

I Played a lot with my old Weatherlight french version of this: "Gardien de la Porte des Abysses". For some reason, I imagine Gerrard speaking with a french accent.

Gerrard is probably my least favorite character in magic... Here you have an interesting monster thing... That makes everything die... and he walks up to it and threatens to knock it out... Thus stealing the spotlight and making a bad joke... Anyway, great card... I think I'll put it it my new creature sac deck.
Pox curves nicely out of this guy as well; causing three creature sacs if they have 4; and almost certainly enabling whatever weird effect on the game you're trying to achieve; maybe a black enchantment deck or something.

I loved this card during Weatherlight, especially with cards that have triggers on leaving the battlefield. It's high time they reprint it.
