His ability seems a little unnecessary by the time you have five mana, but... I still like 'im. Besides, if you have a one-drop in hand you can get utility out of him.

An excellent common that gives you a 4/4 body and can fetch not only a regular Forest but any nonbasic land of Forest subtype. With some mana ramp this can drop on third turn and give even more acceleration for some more big green beaters.
