I like this card, but I feel it's outclassed by Oakenform.

To the guy who said this is outclassed by Oakenform: you do realize this is an instant, right? Plus, who would use Oakenform when they could use Elephant Guide... or even better, Griffin Guide for white?
As for comparing this with Vines of Vastwood, it's not entirely fair, since Vines of Vastwood's initial ability is only vs.-opponent shroud, with a boost if the kicker is paid, while this one is just a pure boost for damage, or for saving your creature from damage or toughness-reducing spells. This card can be used in decks that splash green or have green, while Vines would probably be more useful in a mono-green deck.
Giant Growth was, has been and is the most fair of all the boons.

Every time I play against a green using opponent, I'm wondering if he has this card in his hand... that has got to say something.
In use for years, I really like the new artwork.

you can use this turn 2 for a quick damage burst or as a combat trick. oken form cant say that. and in a meta game rampant with cards like doomblade, i don't relly wont to sped 2 extra mana on something that might not stick around

There are currently 8 cards that have been in every core set from Alpha on. According to the latest word from Wizards of the Coast, once the 2011 set is here, there will be 2: this and Giant Spider.

Can someone explain why this and many other cards in the "masters edition IV" have only one or two votes? I mean, ONE VOTE??? That's outrageous.
ANyways.....this card is simply amazing.

Almost two decades later, I still couldn't imagine green without this. No matter the printing or the artwork. it's an icon of the game.
