I want Zendikar to have at least one good spider. It doesn't even have to be in this expansion. As long as there's one decent spider somewhere in the Zedikar block, I'll be happy. This isn't it.

@Zulp:
WotC didn't want to include any multicolored cards in Zendikar, so Giant Trap Door Spider wasn't an option.

As for the card, Oran-Rief Recluse is mediocre at best.

Actually from a flavor perspective it would be the perfect time to bring back Giant Trap Door Spider in this block.
The kicker cost is too expensive here in my opinion, the effect is very green, so would have been nice.

Ehhh, its not the greatest, but its a 3ish imo. Kinda reminds me of that guild mage that destroys a flyer. Should have been 1g/1other tho, like the mage. Got a few friends new to magic and the dam thing kills my baneslayers lol Thats more then Halo Hunter does and its rare lol

One of the best legal spiders. Yeah, the kicker is a bit high, but this $0.10 card can take down a nearly $60.00 Baneslayer Angel. Or take down anything with flying for that matter.

4/5, only thing from being 5/5 is the high kicker cost.

Ehh. Stingerfling Spider is cheaper for the kicker effect and has better numbers. Pass.

This is my favorite of the Reach-y green spiders. The art is great, and it's so good at what it does. Early game, you get your higher-toughness Reach-y blocker, and late game you have the option to also pick off creatures. I do, however, agree with the other commentators who said that the kicker cost was too high. In my opinion, the card should have costed 2G and had a kicker cost of 1G.
