Note how the card art shows a rather arid area. That's cause the real-world Badlands are arid. Not the only one of the original Duels that has a mis-match between it's basic land types and the sort of land it's name denotes (Taiga, for instance, is swampy forest).

Also see Tropical Island, Scrubland, Savannah, Plateau, Bayou, Taiga, Volcanic Island, Tundra, and Underground Sea.

I say this for too many cards but who gave this less than a five These lands are the best multi color lands ever printed period.

I'm just confused when I look to buy them some people want crazy amounts and some want a buck, y'kno?
so to me I wonder if they're for real or scammin some how... just me
