it has some versatility, but if the sweeper effect is important, your opponent will have a chance to deal with it.

Ah, the memories of fielding these guys alongside the Cemetery Gate from Homelands and an Alpha copy of Pestilence remind me how fun a good old fashioned poor-mans Black Deck was to play. 7 Damage to each creature and player on turn five is nothing to scoff at.
