I would say its that bad. Its really bad i'll admit, but +2/2 for 1 mana and 1 life isn't horrible. The biggest problem is the 3 mana to start with and the "only 3 times per turn" part that makes it bad. 2.5 stars at the least.

I think you meant "2.5 stars at most", bijart_dauth? I agree with you here though. Despite the restriction a triple +2/+2 pumping ability for one mana and one life would be great on a creature, but since you have to spend three mana here before and take card advantage, this is garbage. They could have dropped the activation restriction to make it more interesting.
I'd likely still play this over Blessing though. (It's just that i wouldn't play Blessing in the first place either).
But just play Shade's Form instead. The mana cost of should barely be a problem if you want a pumping effect that requires you to pay mana of one color for each activation anyways, and the built-in False Demise trigger compensates for the card disadvantage you normally take when using Auras, and allows some more shenanigans.
