Basic landcycling ftw.

Unfortunetly for this card, landsearching is one of green's things. It's as good as the other 4 cards with basic landcycling, it just happens to be in the color with several better landsearching cards.

can you re-direct the life-gain to a planeswalker like you can re-direct damaging spells?

I like this card only because it gives you options. just like with krosan tusker or any other monster with cycling. I can always just take the life gain if Im not in need of land.

That said it is a little to expansive, but 8 life in the late game can be usefull. its still not teribly effective though

I'd say Edge of autumn is just better than this. It can bring a land right into play or it can cycle for no mana to get potentially get something better than a land. I don't care much for the instant plus 8.

Pretty terrible. 5Green for 8 life is a terrible tradeoff, and the basic landcycling doesn't really help for green since they have plenty of mana ramp anyway. 1.5*

Somehow this is rated highest out of all the basic landcyclers. I aim to fix that 1/5.

I dunno I always liked how this card instant searched for a land when I was just playing Alara block

Probably the weakest of the cycle because Green already has so much land searching. Still, like the rest of the cycle, I don't think it gets the credit it deserves. Sure they're expensive, but they're at least useful and have dual purposes. In Conflux especially, their land filtering can be a godsend.

As others have said, I really like this cycle and think it is under-appreciated. A land early in the game, and an big effect (For a veeery large mana cost) for when you don't need the land. Sadly, as a green card it is a bit lacking since green is actually good at mana fixing and acceleration. Worse yet, it is life-gain, which is rarely worth a card at all. Worst of the set, but not awful.

You can trade off some speed from rampant growth for the late game versatility. 8 life, though situational, could be enough to give you enough punch for the win.
