For 2 colors that dont usually get good fatties at common/uncommon, this card does what the budget player wants. Vigilance Haste was a VERY important part of why Akroma, angel of Wrath was good. Despite not having the 9000 other keywords, this guy is still good.

When people coined the term "sexy beast," they had this guy in mind, and didn't even realize it.

Good card in just about any Naya or Boros colored deck, as long as the owner has other creatures in play to back up the cerodon.

Why is the card gold? something special?

This guy is brilliant with Glory of Warfare a 7/5 on the attack that stays untapped for a 5/7 blocker. meaning if he gets "chump blocked" that your opponent lost a creature and you did not leave yourself open.
Just wish he was 5cmc then he'd really be something.

5 CMC would be great, but 6 is fine in a Naya deck, considering all the crazy acceleration it gets. This Guy is a bruiser in my Naya deck. My opponent is almost never ready for it.

He's a solid beast, and one of the cards I pray to draw when I'm in a desperate jam.

The grandpa of Cerodon Yearling, technically,to keep the same goodness/mana cost as the little one, this should cost one less mana, let alone been common instead of uncommon, but this thing can turn the tide of a aggro slaughter to your favor the same turn it enters play, and as someone here said: your opponent rarely ever is ready for it.

I really like this card a lot. It gives the red/white player an alternative to small weenies and provides them (well, me, at least) with some late game fatties that work wonders alongside Balefire Liege. Now I only wished they had also printed a red/green version of this with trample replacing vigilance ...

Opponent in limited: Haha! you have no creatures while I have several weenies! {Attacks with 3 2/2's}
Me: My turn? Drop sixth land, Cerodon, Swing.
Opponent: ****.

A 5/5 with Vigilance and Haste, not bad.

I've got a 60-card deck using Naya colors. I was thinking about this card. I decided that this card might be worth using in a Boros-colored deck, but for a Naya-colored deck, I'd rather transform one of the colorless mana in the cost to a green mana and play Meglonoth. Meglonoth doesn't have the Haste, but Meglonoth doesn't need it. For 6, it's just a much better creature in most circumstances.
(As I referred to above, the Cerodon may be better in Boros-flavored decks, which, with more Red than Naya, probably have more Haste/burn type stuff, and can probably benefit much more than Naya from a 5/5 with Haste.)
