This card would be great, if it didn't die to removal! Try again Wizards!

All creatures die to removal, but a black creature (no Terror) with protection from white dies to less then most. Also a 2/2 with first strike?

I don't think Wizards were thinking that far ahead when this card was first printed. Now its a classic!

Classic cost-efficient beater for Black. Even nowadays he is a solid card.

Yeah, Magic was a sad, sad place back when every permanent sucked because it shroud didn't exist. Both players just drew their first 7 cards and wept at the utter futility of even playing, since even those Mountains they'd use to play their Lightning Bolts would just die to removal.

@Lyoncet: And this guy doesn't even die to white or black removal (for the most part). The fact that there was Lightning Bolt back then ruined what could have been a decent creature with pseudoshroud. Yup, Magic sucked back then, and it was all because of Bolt.
