Combos with Hazezon Tamar to make much too large sand warriors

Art and lack of flavor text make this version strictly worse than any other edition of this card.

The text tells you to play with lots of creatures. The art shows one person standing in a seemingly desolate location. Just another example of why 7th was a failure in terms of setting and flavor.

One of the few seventh edition art changes that didn't suck.

Not a huge fan of the art from a flavor standpoint (how is the coat of arms giving power to other creatures when only one is visible?). It'd be best having a crowd, preferably not with ugly-ass goblins, raising their arms in a triumphant cry at the sight of the symbol or something like that. The art itself is definitely nice, don't get me wrong, but isn't that great from simply a flavor standpoint.

I like this art better than the other art... But yeah, total flavour fail.
I wonder how long we have to wait for decent and flavourful art for coat of arms? Probably the next plane with a tribal theme.

It's interesting that foil versions of playable white-bordered cards with distinct art fetch such higher prices than regular, because the foil cards from these white-bordered sets were printed with black borders. In this case, the foil 7th Ed Coat of Arms fetches $30 (compared to $8 in other sets) even though the regular version costs the same $5 as the others.
Another great example of this phenomenon is 7th Edition Serra Angel

Love the art! The white border compliments the art beautifully. Anyway, I run one of these in my goblin deck. It's definitely a late game necessity if your other spells have been countered.

Huh. Art-wise, 7th edition sure fixed a lot of things that weren't broken.
