Lands like these are an obvious trade-off, and whether or not it is useful for you should be determined by your personal play preferences.
But there's one problem: they're non-basic, which is almost always a liability, and limits synergy with other cards. Yet you could also argue that they prevent landwalk, so... Whatever. Take it if you like it.

While coming into play tapped isn't that good, the suicide mana is pretty nice.
Just make sure you have a way to cover for lost land, and you'll be alright.
