It's the Blue Angels of Lorwyn! A waste of taxpayer mana.

On paper it is better than Battle Hurda which is not saying much. Solid card for Limited, for constructed purposes, this will never find its way into a casual kithkin deck.

Um, try baneslayer angel. I know it's a little unfair to compare them, but...

For even more fair of a comparison, try Shepherd of the Lost. It's also a 3/3 flyer for 5 and it gets to have Vigilance as well as an added bonus.

Captain of the B-team, by the time they hit play the game should be over......with you losing because you drew a Plover Knights.

Wow, for 5 I could drop this crap, or I could drop Serra Angel, tough call...

When rating cards, you can't neglect the card's power in limited formats. As such, this card was pretty boss in its format.

Context is everything. This is an excellent card in Limited, and in its environment, it offered some much-needed air support to the kithkin decks and also finished tons of games. Furthermore, it's a common - obviously foolish to compare it to uncommon Serra Angel or Baneslayer Angel - meaning you could easily snap up multiple copies if you drafted white. Furthermore, Lorwyn lacked many huge flyers, so having this at common made it really good at both offense and defense.
