Benalish Hero is a no-frills bander. Her 1 toughness means the damage distribution portion of banding will more than likely turn her into fodder. Unlike Mesa Pegasus, Benalish Hero doesn't offer any extras. As banders go, she is as vanilla as they come. With Castle or Crusade in play, Benalish Hero becomes a respectable blocker. She rarely adds much pop to an attacking band, but if you consider how banding works, she effectively gives an attacking creature +1 to its power and reduces all damage it would normally take to 0. For 1 white mana, this isn't bad.

Ability name 'Bondage' was rejected after R&D saw how much leather she was wearing.
