This maybe one of the cheapest cost for a 3/3 convoke
@Ace_Rimmer No, I think Sprout Swarm sucks wasting too much mana considering you're paying 2 for the price of one and resolving it for paying 5. Even though I love token decks. Sprout swarm is just too overcost

Really nice addition to a token-based deck. The nearly colorless cost means he'd work in almost any system with guys to spare... elves, thalids, wolves, soldiers, whatever.
If you can tap 3 guys, you've got a 7/7 for 5CC... which is a hell of a deal.

Your missing the good thing about Sprout Swam... Its a base card, the idea is for us to find it a place in a deck that benefits from low cost creatures and convoke... and in a deck like that this card is perfect! Early game as you can cast it for free on turn two or keep it as a blocker card (IE time saver) latter on.
I played a deck that ran a set in a local extended tournament and took first... it was a small tournament but I did get to beat down on all-in-red, hypo, zoo, Thopter Foundry, boros, Faeries... and other rouge decks for a clear all out win.
PS... I was playing a token/convoke deck main decking Cord of Calling and Mycolth .

A beautiful marriage of convoke and kicker, and one of my favorite cards from the entire set, and one of the best commons in limited. Like all things that come into play with counters, excellent with Doubling Season.

"If only it had trample..." There are ways to give it trample. Use your noggin for a minute, big creatures are useful even without automatic trample.

Token decks rejoice: Something that can survive Pyroclasm and pretty much every other mass burn, including Inferno.
Such cleverly designed versitility on a common. I love it. Future Sight was an awesome set.

Nice with Nest Invader... tap the Nest Invader and the eldrazi token for , then sac the token for ... pays for the kicker cost.
