Good to get rid off generals in EDH/Commander format games. Also gets rid of creatures that are indestructible, have regeneration or that you don't want to hit the graveyard (like kokusho). Oh, AND it's an instant. :) Four **** from me.

Unless they can shuffle/search their library, that creature isn't coming back in a hurry. 3.5/5

Pfft, blue kill spells? Time Spiral was such a win block :P

As far as I'm concerned, this card is an auto-include for any deck that can run it in EDH. This card simply annihilates your opponent's geared up General, or gives you that little bit of time that lets you stabilize and win. Never have I seen anything in blue so powerful in EDH (except maybe Hinder).

The art reminds me of Mind Ravel.

Expensive, but it hits hard and is almost guaranteed to solve a problem, potentially even two.

Please let Fateseal be the Gatecrash Dimir mechanic. It would be so much win.

My vote for the future-shifted card that's returning in Theros.

Confirmed for reprint in Theros, 21 July 2013.

EDIT: I guess not. But it sure seems like it should have been.

I really really hope with all the scry emphasis in Theros, fateseal is the emphasis in Chosen of the Gods.

I also hope that Fateseal will be one of Theros block's mechanisms. And a reprint of this card in Chosen of the Gods or Journey into Nyx would be awesome, especially because the name of this card fits perfectly!

Yep, that's a blue "kill" spell, with no hope of recursion for your opponent. Instant too, nice.

Still, that's mighty expensive for a kill spell, even for EDH. I'll give it a solid 3.5
