I'm not complaining, but why are Demonic Tutor & Diabolic Tutor both uncommon. Demonic is far better for obviious reasons

Exactly! 2 mana more expensive but just the same effect! This better not just be to get people to spend more cash for better cards- online demonic is much more expensive, and the game shouldnt just be about cash for victory! I really DO hope there is some other explanation...

Demonic Tutor was made first, and it's unintentionally overpowered. When Richard Garfield made it, he thought it was fare. Diabolic Tutor is the fixed version.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Demonic Tutor is banned or restricted in most formats. Diabolic tutor is it's replacement, seeing as Demonic tutor was, in retrospect, ridiculously overpowered.

Control Magic because Mind Control for 1 more. Counterspell because Cancel for 1 more. Demonic Tutor became Diabolic tutor for 2 more. Unnecessary. This would have woked fine for 3.

Possibly my favorite art. It manages to pull off sinister and hilarious at the same time, while perfectly communicating the flavor of the card. It has so much character. Far better and less cluttered than the old cobra art.
I have always thought there could stand to be more tutors. I think they missed the boat with potentially featuring Mishra in flavor for "Phyrexian Tutor".
Still an excellent card that has saved by butt and sealed my victory numerous times.
