Tough to kill as a 2/4 flyer, and an effective stopper with non-wall destruction. At 3GG though, it probably costs a bit much.

***atrice provides green with some excellent flying defense. Though it costs an additional mana, this is a huge step up from Giant Spider, thanks to its ability. With 4 toughness, ***atrice is hard to kill, but slap Regeneration on this guy and it will be the ultimate blocker. ***atrice can also be enchanted with Lure to wreak havoc on all of your opponent's flying creatures at once. In this regard, it is indeed inferior to Thicket Basilisk. Its flying ability becomes a liability rather than an asset.

No. It didn't work. Why the hell does Gatherer sensor parts of words that are parts of MtG card names? And why the hell doesn't it sensor 'hell'?

Back in the day - this was 1 card you had to have in any green deck - the ultimate deterrent (at the time) for Shivans, Sengirs, Serras, etc. If you splashed white and threw in a Blaze of Glory......
