If you seriously need to be discarding your own cards for a bunch of cards in your graveyard, you are building your deck wrong, but if you need this to get a crucial card or two back, then this card is perfect.

This card in the Legacy format, or in any format with restricted cards, is very powerful. There's a reason it was once restricted. I think it can be very useful in EDH.

in self mill it might as well read discars your hand then search your library for x cards to put into your hand where x is the number of cards discarded. 4 stars indeed
