A fun card, and very versatile. Just the slightest bit overpriced, but the cheap abilities make up for it. Daren Bader did a great job with the art, too.

One of my favorite cards ever. I just love versatility. It fixes your mana early, and it's a regenerating beatstick late. Stick one swamp in your deck and that's all you need to play him and regenerate him, and he even tutors that swamp up for you. A zombie deck would have plenty of ways to bring him back after cycling him, too.
It was also beautifully drawn by Daren Bader.

Out Of Respect For ClockworkSwordfish Awesome Name By The Way Twited Abomination Is As Ill As It Gets First Of Zombie Mutant Second Off One Swamp Regen And Third Off Sick Art By The Badger

Strange that the decided to portray the abomination as a normal looking warrior in the pit fighting that weird monster...he looks like he's neither a zombie, nor a mutant...and they even made that weird monster the focus...huh...

Too bad none of the cyclers in Alara were this good.
High costed cards are a dead draw if you aren't getting your mana. Tutoring for lands is a dead draw if you are getting too much mana.
Put both together and you never have a dead draw.

Great card. I find that most of the time, my decks work fine if I get to three mana. 2-mana landcyclers like this really smooth things out when they're this good as they allow you to not only continue moving up the curve, but this guy (the best of them) makes an excellent finisher.
He's tough to kill, eats fairly large creatures, puts a short clock on an opponent, and is color light. Can't ask for much easier of a card to use. Cycle him if you have a card to cast and not enough land; especially at the EOT of an opponent when you're waiting around with kill spells and nothing shows up.

Overpriced? What are you talking about? (4)(B) for a 5/3 that can regenerate for a single mana would be too powerful (and that's not even considering swampcycling). Take a look at what other fatties with cheap regeneration black has. The only real competitors of this card are Spiritmonger (need green to play), Deity of Scars (can't be played outside of monoblack, monogreen or black-green), and Laquatus's Champion (less splashable). None of those three cards can be swampcycled like the abomination can. This guy is perfectly priced as it is.
