This card is out-classed in almost every way by Azure Mage: she's half-price to play; costs the same to activate, but can activate for multiple cards a turn (okay, she takes blue mana, but blue wants this effect most anyway); and she's a creature -- although this makes her fragile, it makes her much more versatile.

Wow. lotta old school hate going on. the book is balanced. 4 mana=1 card. been that way since revised. most ways around that are either; A: BLUE, B: painful to the caster in some way, C: completely broken and banned to hell and gone, or finally D: all the above. solid 3/3.5 star
