In the starter sets, there are only creatures and sorceries. So in those it's pretty much a Negate.

It's a shame that art depicting a guy setting God on fire is on such a weak card. I would expect this to cost 10cc and say "Target player loses the game."

I think they just said "screw it" to fixing the text. Portal called an instant a "Sorcery" for some awful reason, so this card should counter instants.
Ah well. Guess they figure nobody plays it, so let it go.

Funny thing is, that's probably what new players will be saying in 2020, when the design dream team decides that instants are "too complicated", just like interrupts supposedly were.
