My friends and I call this the "Jesus Counterspell" because it's the first counterspell, and the artwork looks like Jesus.

I love the artwork for this card, it represents the card so well, the best counter ever printed...except maybe Force of Will.

That art is phenomenal. I mean, the look on that guy's face as his spell fizzles.
I always loved playing blue, and this card was always key. I remember I used to annoy the crap out of my friends, but I'd say "wah-waaaaah" when I played this, lol. Good times.

The only way I will forgive Wizards for what they did to my beloved Serra Angel is if they reprint this card with this art work, or the Tempest one. Sadly, it looks like I would be in the long haul with that one :(.

This is the second best art for this card next to the Duel Decks one.
Unlike Timetwister, which is the only member of the Power Nine that has the potential of benefiting your opponents more than it benefits you, Counterspell is a one-sided, extremely effective benefit for you.
It's a card of grace, elegance and efficiency.
It should be the true ninth member of the Power Nine.

Everyone else - Great card. Don't overdo it. If you want to play by yourself, there is a special game for that called 'solitaire'. It has the advantage of not wasting other peoples' time.
